This week, I returned to the Tom Woods show to discuss nullification and its use against slavery. Over the weekend, a number of establishment publications, including CNN and ThinkProgress, wrote historically inaccurate “reports” about the history of nullification. So I reached out to Tom to see if he wanted to do an episode on this and was happy that he said yes.
Here’s how Tom set the stage:
Nullification — and indeed anything involving the states — is all about slavery, right? What a surprise: the propagandists are wrong again. In this episode, the Tenth Amendment Center‘s Michael Boldin joins me for some forgotten history: how northerners expressly used the language of nullification and state sovereignty to fight against slavery.
