Being the TAC started in 2006 – the height of Bush/Republican power – we’re quite familiar with how mainstream republicans and other party hacks cared little about the constitution when their team was in charge.  Most of that went away when Obama and the Democrats rolled into town.

But, as we get closer to another national election (which I think Trump will actually win), I’m starting to see the belligerent emails and comments coming in once again from the right – to join with the left in their hatred of our support for the Constitution.

Take this one(spelling errors and all), in response to our posting of Harry Browne’s classic Independence Day article, Uncelebrating the Fourth:

You’re missing the point of why we celebrate. Symbolism defining who we are is what people hold close to their hearts. The problem is people like you use the very freedom you were given to destroy, not to build or to advance in a positive way. It’s what worthless and aborrent politicians and radical leftists hold dear… NOTHING. It’s easy to find fault everywhere you look. It’s difficult to hold dear an ideal or symbol of what is. Perhaps try honoring those that sought a better way with their very lives, rather than succomb to a monarchial rule and deface the very memory of our American identity.

PS

Get areal job, or better yet, do your job property, not for popularity.

If and when Donald Trump walks into the White House, expect more and more of this from the right and much silence from the left (it’ll be the other way around if Hillary Clinton wins). As long as it comes from him, we’ll get attacked by people for being “America Haters” when we point out programs that violate the constitution. I’m sure I’ll be writing more on this soon.
